The Jar, the Box, the Wool
Packaging can easily become excessive. We wanted ours to feel considered, protective, and honest to the materials surrounding the tea itself.
Jars
A lot of energy can be devoted to packaging. The range of materials and production methods is continually expanding but we decided to use Miron ultra violet glass jars. Glass can be reused indefinitely and has an inherent protective value for the contents. Ultra violet is a natural filter that blocks the harmful elements of visible light while allowing UV-A and infrared to pass through. The jars help keep the contents fresh and reduce deterioration. Please re-use them.
Boxes
Our sturdy cardboard boxes are handmade and stapled in the Black Country, and are lined with our own sheep wool for cushioning. The wool has been washed gently to prevent it turning into felt, and combed to remove grass seeds and hedgerow plant pieces. The wool can be added to compost or just placed on top of soil.
Small-batch single estate tea, grown, handpicked and made into loose leaf tea on the farm.
